The man then suffered injuries on his head and body. The contractor is liable for the damage to the house and also to the injured man. There's a contract between the man and the contractor to build the renovation fit to stay. The duty of care is stated on the contract created by the contractor to his clients. However, negligence must be proven and that the contractor has indeed used substandard materials and not work in accordance with the acceptable standard. Details of Task: During the first two weeks of semester, students will form themselves into groups (of two or three) for the Group Assignment. By week 2, each group should have formulated a question or problem involving at least 3 topics covered in the unit. For example, a patient may have been treated by a doctor or nurse, and if something went wrong with the procedure, issues around breach of duty of care (negligence law), breach of contract (contract law) and breach of guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law are likely to arise. The teaching staff will give guidance on how the problems/questions should be formulated and resolved. Over the course of the semester students will develop a written response to the question or problem and in the final week of the semester this written response must be submitted and a presentation on it must be made. From this interpretation and application, the student reaches a compelling and rational conclusion relating directly to the issues raised in the problem. There will be a sharp and succinct introduction and a conclusion that neatly rounds off the paper as a whole.
