The 4-year-old girl says her preschool teacher was touching her inappropriately in the bathroom. The little girl was interrogated by the police to get a statement however, the little girl did not open up about the alleged abuse. 

 

In Sacramento California, parents do not have the constitutional right to be present when their child is being interrogated. However, can the child's therapist be present while the police are interviewing the child? Or can the family lawyer be present when the child is being interviewed by the police? 

If not, is there a way for the child to have someone of comfort with her during the interrogation?
