The 5MPH fender test is a test where a vehicle is driven into a concrete barrier. If the fender is permanently deformed, the fender fails the low-speed impact test. To this end, assume the deflection of the fender cannot exceed 6 inches during impact without permanent deformation.

To mitigate the shock to the passengers, we have decided to add a damper alongside the fender (both fit behind the bumper) to help dissipate the energy. Build the system of equations and transfer functions for this new system as youve developed it. Be sure to consider the following:

a.) The deflection of the fender

b.) The deceleration of the passenger

c.) The total force exerted on the system
