Proficiency in active listening and critical thinking are two crucial abilities for leaders. One of the most important leadership characteristics is to inspire and encourage people. An effective leader dedicates time to acquiring knowledge about their team and the broader organization. Being relatable to your workers allows them to feel more at ease with you and allow them to ask questions or approach you when they may not otherwise if you were not approachable. When workers feel like their time is respected and they are appreciated they are more likely to got that extra mile when the time calls for it. Being in the Army those are my personal values I hold and let all of my Soldiers know when I arrive to a unit or get a new Soldier
