This four-lane bridge (two lanes for each direction) supports the majority of cross-river traffic from the City of Rio Rancho to the City of Albuquerque, e.g. approximately 115,000 vehicles per day. Since the rapid development of the City of Rio Rancho, its population is going to increase up to 140% of the current population in 2035 based on the city transportation demand models. This indicates that the facility must be redesigned to satisfy traffic demand increase before 2020
