The article for this week's assignment expresses the fundamental skills for good writing. I identified three key point for legal writing within this article, which include the ability to write clearly and appropriately, being able to ask questions and produce answers and the ability to be direct in your writing. All three of these writing skills come together in a way that makes for good writing. All the key points revolved around simplify all legal writing conducted from extensive research to create quality work that is easily understood by multiple if not all audiences.

Writing clearly speaks for itself. To write clearly you have to be able to write with simplicity. This skill goes hand in hand with being direct in your work. The use of large words and phrases is unnecessary in legal writing.  In legal writing you want your ideas, arguments, and opinions to be easily identified. Less is always more. Proofreading your work and continually making changes to eliminate unnecessary wording making sure writing is staying on track.

Learning how to read cases critically is important for case law. The ability to read and analyze case law will help to develop your own writing. Legal writing is a persuasive piece that started by identifying a question or multiple questions. The answer to your question after conducting significant research should be answered clearly and understandably once and then supported by the facts. There is no need to restate the answer to the question if it has been clearly stated as to avoid any uncertainty by the reader.
