The Attorney-client privilege affords defense counsel with considerable protection about the information that a defendant has shared with them. If you were an attorney and your client confessed to you that he was fully or partly involved in the crime, what would you do? Would you vigorously fight the prosecution's case, encourage your client to seek a fair plea bargain or decide you really don't care what happens to the defendant and not put forth any effort in the case? Would this depend on the type of crime the defendant admitted to?
