The beginning-of-the-period cash balance for the Travis Company was a $12,000 debit. Cash sales for the month were 6000 and sales account were 8000 that company paid 2500 for current period purchases and the also paid 3000 amounts due for the last month. what is the ending debit or credit balance.

The answer to this is 25,000 debit. I don't understand how this is the case. can someone please explain.
