The Business School Dean has asked me to determine if students in 2018 are better prepared for Statistics, than in the previous year. I don't have information about all the students, but I do have samples from 2 sections of BUS232 in Fall 2017, and again 2 sections in Fall 2018. I believe that the first BUS232 Exam is a reasonable measure of statistics "readiness". Therefore I will use sample results from that exam to compare the two populations. Based on past years of business students, exam grades generally follow a normal distribution.

In 2017, 49 students took the BUS232 exam, with a mean grade of 82%. In 2018, 36 students took the exam, with a mean grade of 84%. From multiple years of experience, we will assume that the standard deviation of grades on this exam is 6% for all years.
