The Cabinet Office supports the Prime Minister and cabinet of ministers. It is made up of units that support cabinet committees and coordinates the delivery of government objectives through other departments. It currently has just over 2,000 staff, most of whom work in Whitehall area of Westminster in London. Staff working in the Prime Minister's Office are part of the Cabinet Office.
It is the Cabinet Office's responsibility to: support the Prime Minister in defining and delivering the government's objectives support the Prime Minister in putting political and constitutional reform in place support the cabinet to make sure there is consistency and quality in the delivery of policy and operations across departments strengthen the Civil Service to make sure it is effective, efficient and has the capability to deliver the government's objectives work with the Treasury to promote efficiency and reform across the public sector
