The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms was well intentioned when brought in by then Prime Minister Trudeau; however, the Charter's rules have significantly impacted police in how they investigate crimes. More and more criminals are getting off due to Charter violations such as: Askov, Feeney, and many others. It is time to rewrite the Charter giving police greater search powers.
