THE CASE As the supervisor at College Park Education Center, which provides educational services for both cultural and diverse members in the community apart of your job and responsibility is to manage the Adult Education Program. The Centre rented a store front to begin an outreach program. The aim of the Computer Outreach Program is to familiarize people with basic computer skills to enhance their basic ability to find meaningful employment. At first, the operation was a success; more than a 100 people a day came to the storefront to learn, however that figure quickly dwindled to fewer than 28. Unless something is done soon to remedy the problem, funding for the facility will be cut off. The Director of College Park, Kevin Jameson, asked you to go to the storefront location and find out why the attendance rate is so low. On Monday May 25th, you visited the site. The manager of the center, Kenneth Coverley, has been actively involved in community awareness and renewal for the last 15 years. He is well known in the area and was given the job of overseeing the learning facility primarily because of his popularity, not his knowledge or computer ability. When walking around the Centre you notice the following: There are 12 computers available, but only 3 are being used 15 clients are standing around idly while Mr. Coverley tutors only one While speaking to Mr. Coverley, you discover he prefers a one on one teaching method You also find out he isn't exactly a computer whiz The volunteers who are under his guidance are standing around like the clients idle The lack of direction and organization is not provided
