The Case

Shawn Brooks and Lori Thomas reside in Atlantic County, New Jersey. They are engaged to be married. In December 1989, Shawn and Lori visit the law firm you work for, and they want to obtain a premarital agreement. Shawn owns his own business with a net value of $100,000, and Lori has various mutual funds and stocks valued at approximately $500,000. They each own their own homes. Shawn's home is valued at $250,000, and Lori's home is valued at $150,000. They agree to have a provision in the agreement that the agreement will dissolve if they remain married for 10 years.

Your Role For the final project, you will act as a family law paralegal and help prepare necessary documents for the Shawn Brooks and Lori Thomas case.
