The communication strategy employed a blend of channels, including emails, virtual town halls, and collaborative platforms like Slack (Lawrence, 2014). Initially, the communication was frequent and transparent, with leadership providing regular updates on the situation, explaining the rationale behind decisions, and offering support for the transition (Ballaro et al., 2020). This approach helped alleviate uncertainty and fostered a sense of unity among employees during a tumultuous time. Town hall meetings allowed for interactive Q&A sessions, addressing concerns in real-time and promoting engagement.

However, as weeks turned into months, the frequency of communication decreased, leading to a sense of disconnect among remote teams. Important updates became sporadic, and some employees felt left in the dark about organizational changes or future plans (Ballaro et al., 2020). The reliance on digital communication also posed challenges, as nuanced discussions or spontaneous interactions that would have occurred in an office setting were limited. While the initial communication approach effectively facilitated the transition to remote work, its effectiveness waned over time due to a lack of sustained engagement and personalized communication (Lawrence, 2014). To enhance effectiveness, the organization could have implemented regular pulse surveys to gauge employee sentiment, encouraged open dialogue through virtual coffee chats or feedback sessions, and provided additional resources for managing remote work challenges.

In conclusion, the communication strategy during the change implementation was initially effective in addressing immediate needs and fostering a sense of unity. However, maintaining consistent and engaging communication proved challenging over time, highlighting the importance of adaptability and ongoing efforts to meet evolving needs during change processes.
