The Church believes that its members can promote such growth by engaging in practices such as piercing, tattooing, branding, cutting, and body manipulation. An employee has numerous facial piercings and tattoos and claims that these were obtained as part of her membership in the Church of Body Modification. Does this constitute religious practices as that term is understood under Title VII?
