The combined cycle consisting of bryton and rankine cycles is given in the figure on the right. 70 MW electricity is produced from the Brayton turbine and 10 MW from the Rankine turbine. In the Brayton cycle, the compressor compression ratio is 2 and the turbine inlet temperature is 1300 K. The waste heat gases from the gas turbine are transferred to the Rankine cycle via a waste heat exchanger. With this waste heat, the steam is heated up to 400 C in the Rankine cycle and enters the steam turbine at this temperature. The pressures before and after the pump are 10 kPa and 5 MPa, respectively. According to this; 1. Calculate the net work and efficiency of the Brayton cycle. 2. Calculate the net work and efficiency of the Rankine cycle. 3. Calculate the mass flow rates for both cycles. 4. Calculate the temperature and enthalpy of point 5. 5. Calculate the efficiency of the cogeneration system.
