The incident also led to a legal dispute between the Royal Interpreters and the Manitoba worker's compensation board of Manitoba as to who will be responsible for covering the injury. Royal Interpreters believed that since the location was inappropriate for wearing heels, the officials requesting the interpretation services should have been informed before the appointment. On the other hand, the worker's compensation board argued that since she was sent by Royal Interpreters, they should be responsible for the injury claim.
