The content on global governance and decolonization of global health shows a pattern where the leadership of most global health organizations, editorial boards of most global health journals, locations of most conferences (even on tropical diseases) are in high-income countries. That is, the decisionmaking power on many global health topics still lies in the hands of a few that are in high-income countries. Aside from the obvious concern of equity, thinking about this topic from the lens of scientific expertise and experience, what might the downside of this concentration of power be? Is this leading to the migration of talented individuals from low-and-middle income countries to high-income countries because there are better opportunities and visibility in high-income countries? Is this resulting in the global health community missing out on opinions of experts in low-and-middle income countries because they are not given due importance?
