The Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in the most challenging environment for many organizations worldwide. Although ethical dilemmas are not new, as highlighted by Narayanan Vaidyanathan, ACCA's head of business futures in a report published by ACCA, ".... Covid-19 certainly has created new challenges, which can create the risk of compromise to ethical behaviour."

Requirement:

1. Highlight some of the ethical dilemmas that are faced by accountants as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Additionally, identify how accountants may be in breach of the five fundamental principles of the ICAEW Code of Ethics and what are the safeguards, which may eliminate or reduce the threats to the fundamental principles.
