The Covid-19 pandemic is undoubtedly one of the biggest challenges of recent times. For example, there have been well publicized shortages of medical supplies and the slow process required to develop new medicines has been criticized. Other challenges include how to manage operations in pharmaceutical and healthcare organizations not only in these uncertain times, but also when we return to a "new normal."

Please critically review material available online (e.g., company statements, articles on reputable websites, newspapers and magazines) on what pharmaceutical companies and healthcare organizations have done and are proposing to do during this pandemic. Then answer the following three questions:

What changes in organizational strategies are emerging and how do you assess them on the basis of strategies.

Have different ways to measure success (KPIs, targets, etc.) been proposed/and how it will applied?

Which changes are emerging in relation to the structure and management of organizational processes - especially new product development ones - within organizations (e.g., a single pharmaceutical firm) and between organizations (e.g., a supply chain in the pharmaceutical industry)? Please critique these especially referring to content covered in the areas of continuous improvement and business process reingeneering.
