The Credits Research Assignment will provide you with the opportunity to research various types of tax credits available for individuals. Focus will be placed on those credits available more for lower-income taxpayers as this will be the income range of the taxpayers being served by the student and the VITA program. The Credit Research Assignment will be specifically to research the Earned Income Credit (EIC). You will want to include information such as: its origin, its requirements to qualify (and if and how these have changed over time), arguments for and against the credit, the impact the credit is having on individuals receiving it, etc. The Credit Research Assignment will be graded on the level of correct detail and information that is contained in an APA formatted paper.
