Understandably, this a tentative action that would impact much of our agricultural economy would be affected, however causing large scale environmental deterioration could have even worse effects on the world and therefore the economy as well in the future. Some of which, we may not even know about at this time. As stated by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association, the dead zone in the gukf of Mexico is already covering 4,347 square miles, which they also state is larger than Yosemite National Park. It could potentially be devastating to the world to have such a grand scale of the gulf be uninhabitable for oceanic life, and according to The Advocate article, has only grown in size since 2017. These effects if left untreated or not focused on by our shared governments around the Gulf of Mexico could rapidly lead to growth in the dead to larger parts of the ocean, thus also leading to an economical impact irregardless for multiple countries not being able to properly fish or utilize the oceans benefits.
