The Decision Making Process

Managers are constantly making decisions, often having to choose from several alternatives. This assignment helps you learn how to apply the steps of the Rational Decision Making Process in Chapter 7.

Instructions:

1. Think about a decision you've recently made where you had to choose from several different options. (Note - a yes/no decision doesn't work for this practice). Describe your situation here.
2. Write a description of this decision using each of the stages in the Rational Decision Making Processas your guide.
3. Describe the Non-Rational models and explain why they were/were not a factor in your decision.
4. Explain the Bias in your decision that was present.
5. Reflect on your decision making process - what did you learn? Was this a good decision, or a bad one? What happened during the decision making process that made it a good/bad decision? What would you do differently next time?
