The assessor has a checklist of criteria they will base your assessment on. As a simulated workplace activity as directed by the assessor, you will be given information on a client. Assess the details and identify the rights and responsibilities of the parties working with the client (for example, working according to the care plan, providing a certain service, allowing the client to make decisions for themselves). You should take time to assess these requirements, so you are fully aware of these before speaking with them. You must then speak with the person acting as the client (this may be another learner from the learning group, or a person appointed by the assessor) to discuss these rights and responsibilities with them, so the client is given this information. You should speak in a friendly manner and seek to aid client understanding by adapting your style of communication to suit the client (as needed). You should confirm that the client has understood this, and allow them the option to ask questions
