The discussion at the end of Chapter 8 mentions one very good reason why you would want to file a tax return for a year even if not otherwise required to be-cause your gross income was below the dollar-amount filing threshold for that particular year (Table 8-4) namely, because youre due a refund. Name and briefly explain one other very good reason for doing so, one that has zero to do with receiving a refund for the current year for any reason (or a pandemic-related stimulus check) but which weve already discussed in this course.
