The discussion topic was "What do you think it takes in order for a president to be successful? Using those criteria, do you think that President Biden has been successful as a president so far? Why or why not?"

Hello, what are your comments/opinions on this discussion post below?

" In order for a president to be successful, I believe they need strong communication skills. They need to address their plans to the people and keep us updated on any changes that might happen. A president also needs to keep their word and be trustworthy. People won't want to re-elect someone if they didn't accomplish what they had promised they would and if they don't see a change in our country. I also believe a president should be humble and sincerely help people. A very good example of a successful president is Barack Obama. He created Obama Care for those that couldn't afford healthcare because he believed everyone should be able to seek medical attention if they needed to regardless of their economical status. He also created DACA for immigrant children so they'd be able to go to school and get an education while they worked on getting their residency. He also rescued the economy by providing tax relief along with other economical issues. A president like this is bound to be re-elected and greatly missed after the end of their term. I think President Biden is trying to be a successful president but he hasn't quite accomplished that yet. Gas prices tremendously went up and job wages stayed the same. This caused economical damage to a lot of people because they couldn't afford to pay their bills and on top of that pay over $5 for a gallon of gas. It would have made more sense if the minimum wage went up along with the gas prices to keep the economy balanced. Inflation is also a problem because prices for just about anything keep going up, and again, the minimum wage has not gone up. He did help a black woman get elected to serve the Supreme Court for the very first time in history and as much as I'm proud of this accomplishment and opportunity for her, it doesn't quite help the country. Right now there are many problems that need solving and the only person that can do that is our president. Joe Biden has been in office for almost a year so we still need to see how he will solve our economic problems and how he plans on making our country better. I wouldn't say Biden is a bad president but he definitely needs to prove himself a little bit more to the country, in my opinion " .
