The economics within the drug trade enterprise is complex. If an individual is at the top of the pyramid (i.e. drug gang leader or manufacturer) They will make the most money. This study estimated between $50,000 and $130,000 in profits. It was noted that very few people make these types of higher amounts. The second tier within the pyramid would be considered the supplier. These individuals make significantly less than those at the top. In this specific study, the estimated earnings for a second tier were about $12,000 annually.
