The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) manager assessed worker exposure to hexane, a chemical used in painting activities, in response to a request from the company's management. Determining the extent to which the workforce's health and safety were at risk due to hexane exposure from the ongoing operation was the main objective of this research. This was accomplished by calculating and comparing the weighted average (TWA) exposure to the PEL. Proposals for modifications to the PEL were made, accompanied by justifications for their necessity. The investigation revealed that the amount of hexane personnel were exposed to (420.3 ppm) was below permissible exposure limits (500 ppm), demonstrating that the current operations do not immediately pose a risk to their health.
