The European Social Survey (ESS) is an academically driven cross-national survey that has been conducted across Europe since 2001. The data from the ESS survey has a variable recording time spent reading newspapers (in minutes) on an average weekday.

A subset of data for a random sample of reading time (in minutes) for people living in Germany and living in Turkey is stored in an Excel file and analysed to answer the following research question. The file contained two variables, reading times for Germans and Turkish people.
