The file gives the average temperature (Fahrenheit) for each year in both NYC and Sydney, Australia. For this question we are only concerned with NYC so ignore Sydney. Building on what we did in HW 3 using correlation, we will test the following claim:

Claim: The average temperature in NYC is greater over the last 25 years (1989 to 2013) compared to the average temperature over the recorded history, 52.872 F.

We will use a significance level of 5%. You can use the steps from the previous question to guide you in this problem. Be sure to include you Null and Alternative hypotheses, P-value, and conclusion statement.

Hint: Use the data file to find the mean temperature in NYC over the last 25 years. This is our sample data. The Null hypothesis is the assumption that the population mean (52.872 F) has stayed the same. Our alternative hypothesis is that the population mean has increased in a statistically significant way.
