The final phase of treatment,discharge planning,requires that we examine the interplay of all of our clients' presenting problems: substance use,mental health,physical health,support networks,spirituality,etc. Briefly respond to the following:

1. How might this skill be different in working with clients with co-occurring disorders compared to clients who present with only a substance use concern, or those with minor concerns?

2. What skills will you need to use to help a client plan for a discharge and referral process that will support them to not need to return to the same level of treatment?
