The final units address how evolution continues in our world and the health of the ecosystem that we inhabit. To be sure, the world has its share of problems that damage the ecosystem, many of them man-made (eg. oil spills). Please research one problem where countries are making major progress in preventing or repairing damage to the ecosystem that is caused by man-made interventions. For example, we know that at some point, the earth's oil and gas resources (with their own pollutions issues) may not be able to supply the needs of the planet's population as it grows. Many countries are developing alternative energy solutions. What are some of those solutions and can they ever take the place of fossil fuels?
