The first challenge that my organization faces with using the Six Sigma process is pressure to get to the root cause and not allowing the team enough time to work through the phases (JWI554,1). With the Analyze Phase, the temptation is to start to try solutions, rushing to implement based on a hunch, rather than fulfill the data collection and statistical analysis. The second challenge is having adequate data and appropriate data collection processes or systems in place to collect data when there are so many variables. Again, related to the first challenge, the organization will not tolerate waiting for sensors or measurement devices to be purchased or installed and will push hard for action (try something)
