The first policy lab is focused on Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act.

• Identify any one aspect or area of interest within the HITECH Act and develop a research summary addressing the relevance, past and present status, challenges, and your own opinions and perspectives related to the selected aspect or area of interest within the HITECH act.
• Example areas of interest: a particular clause within the act; particular topics such as incentives & reimbursements, interoperability, EHR features involved in each of stage of meaningful use (MU); or general or policy-related question that you would like explore.
• While most aspects, topics, or questions related to HITECH are acceptable, the summary should not be a high-level overview of the act itself or an overview of the various MU stages. Instead, it should be a focused, critical analysis of a particular area within HITECH.
