The first UAE$-$built space satellite in the country's history is complete and has been flown to South Korea before its launch later this year, confirmed officials on Thursday. The KhalifaSat project began in $2013.$ Earlier this month during an inspection of the satellite, His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice$-$President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai said: "Emirati engineers are the first in the Arab world to construct a satellite without foreign assistance."
