The five team dysfunctions are lack of trust, fear of conflict, lack of commitment, avoidance of accountability, and inattention to results. One place where I've experienced avoidance of accountability within a team is while I'm at work. I currently work at Starbucks and although my coworkers are amazing, there are some instances where we face conflict, as every team does. For example, while I was working a shift one day, I was working with one of my coworkers and he was told to make a backup of a mocha. He ended up forgetting about this task after a rush which resulted in someone else having to make it in a rush when the person on bar ran out. When addressed by the shift supervisor, the employee who was told to make the mocha in the first place ended up making excuses and saying "Someone else could've done it, I was busy." This caused some tension and stress on the floor which is not an effective or fun work environment to be in. 2. Although the employee got defensive and pointed fingers in the heat of the moment, he ended up apologizing to the team at the end of his shift
