The following information is given in relation to the financial statements of JE Electronics Ltd for the year ended 30 June 2021. Each of these events is to be treated independently. JE Electronics Ltd provides warranties for all electrical appliances sold. Pursuant to the warranty terms, JE Electronics Ltd undertakes to make good by repair or replacement, any defects that become apparent within a period of 12 months from the date of sale. Based on their previous experience, warranty costs are expected to approximate 5% of sales. During the financial year, JE Electronics Ltd is sued by a customer who claims that a fault in their microwave purchased from one of their shops caused it to blow up and burn their house down. The customer also suffered major burns from the fire. Up to the date of authorisation of the financial statements for issue, JE Electronics Ltds lawyer advised that it is probable that the entity will not be found liable at this stage based on the evidence available. The damages could be between $50,000 and $5,000,000 if JE Electronics Ltd is found liable. As a result of JE Electronics Ltds manufacturing operations, the company contaminated the local wetlands adjacent to its plant based in Bundaberg. There is no legal obligation to clean up the wetlands, but JE Electronics Ltd has a long record of cleaning up land that it has contaminated. Under its new Enterprise Agreement signed with the trade union during the year, JE Electronics Ltd is to provide all employees employed on a permanent basis, an additional 20 days long service leave for every 10 complete years served. The total estimated provision for long service leave for the financial year 2021 amounted to $200,000. Required: Answer this question in the space provided below. In relation to each of the scenarios given above, explain whether a liability, provision, contingent liability, or none of these exists as at 30 June 2021. Give reasons for your answers..
