The following reaction in which carbon monoxide reacts with water to form carbon dioxide and hydrogen at atmospheric condition is of central importance in the industrial production of hydrogen. CO(g)+H2O(v)CO2(g)+H2(g) 44.64mol/hr of carbon monoxide at 25C and 66.96mol/h of water vapor at 150C are fed to a reactor. The product gas which contains CO2,H2 and H2O(v), emerges at 500C a. Calculate the standard heat of reaction of the above reaction using Hess's law based on the following reactions. (41.15kJ/mol) b. This reaction releases a lot of heat. For reactor design purposes, you are required to calculate the amount of heat transfer (kW) in the reactor for the above operating condition. It is advisable to use the heat of formation method to solve this problem. However any other methods are also acceptable. (0.0483kW)
