The gear reduction unit and propeller of an outboard boat motor are shown in the following figure. This assembly is attached to the structure of the boat through the top "mounting Flange". The motor is mounted above this unit and rotates the "vertical drive shaft" with a torque of 26 Nm. By means of bevel gearing, this shaft turns the "propeller" at a rotational speed that is one third the rotational speed of the vertical shaft. The propeller provides a thrust of 490 N to drive the boat forward. Neglecting the effects of gravity and friction, identify all the external "loads" (i.e. Forces and Torques/Moments) acting on the mounting flange. (In particular, you need to find: FMFX, FMFY, FMF2, MMFX, MMFY, and TMFZ). Also, draw a "Free Body Diagram" of this assembly showing the "loads" acting on it with their correct directions. (Note: The subscript "MF" used in the identification of the "loads" stands for "Mounting Flange". FMFx = 490 N, FMF,0, FMF, = 0, MMFx 78 Nm, MMFY = 245 Nm, TMF =26 Nm
