A 0.6 m diameter free-headed pile is to be driven vertically into dry sand with unit weight 17 m and ultimate angle of shearing resistance 30%. The pile is to be installed us 9 m depth and a horizontal load is to be applied at the top of the pile, which is 0.6 m above ground level. Using design charts, show that the piles fall by forming one hinge, and calculate the lateral capacity of the pile if the pile has a fully plastic moment of 1400 kNm
