The gigs of popular bands are often sold out a few hours after tickets are avail-

able, and that sometimes mean months before the actual concert. That raises a

puzzling question: why don't they just increase the price of the tickets? They

could surely sell the tickets at a higher price, and earn more money. Is it that

they do not maximize their profits? Or can we come up with a better explana-

tion?
