The goal of the assignment is to facilitate your understanding and critical analysis of the Supreme Court decision in Miranda v. Arizona(1966).

1. Summarize each section of the majority opinion, written by Chief Justice Warren, in Miranda v. Arizona (recall that there are five sections of the majority opinion, labeled I through V). What are the main points and arguments made in each of the five sections?
2. Summarize each of the three dissenting opinions (Justice Clark's; Justices Harlan, Stewart, & White's; Justices White, Harlan, & Stewart's). What are the main points and arguments made in each dissenting opinion? Focus in particular on how the three dissenting opinions differ from one another. In other words, what reasoning/logic is used in each to challenge the majority opinion?
3. Once you have summarized the main points of the four opinions (i.e., one majority opinion and three dissenting opinions), identify one point/argument in each of the four opinions for empirical scrutiny. Specifically, identify points/arguments that have been tested in the scientific literature. Does the science you've learned about in the module support or refute each of these points/arguments?
