The goal of the experiment is to test an idea (also called a 'hypothesis') about the relationship between forces and motion: When an object's force diagram is out of balance in a particular direction, the object moves in that direction. Available equipment: Anything you have access to at home, but the simpler the better. a} How this fits into scientific investigation: Testing a hypothesis is just part of the scientific process. What parts of the process come before? b) Think about how you can use the available equipment to design experiments relevant to the hypothesis being tested. Describe what you learned about the purpose of a testing experiment and what steps go into a solid testing experiment. c} Devise two experiments that test the hypothesis.
