The goal of this project is to take some data and apply what you are learning to create a final project that can actually give you results.

Part I: Topic Selection

  • Propose a hypothetical data set and hypothetical sample group for your project. Your data set and sample group must meet the following criteria:
  • Your sample must be a simple random sample, in the sense that it must be representative of the population under study.
  • Your hypothetical sample group should relate somehow to your career or your aspiring career.

Part II: Gathering Data

  • Explain how you would gather your data.
  • Would you create a survey? If so, include the survey questions you would ask. How are you going to distribute your survey to ensure a simple random sample?
  • If you already have access to your data, explain to us how the data was compiled and where the data comes from (withholding any identifying information, of course).

Part III: Tests, Graphs, and other Fun Stuff

  • This is where you get to pick! The idea is that you pick the pieces that make sense for your data and what you want to learn from it.
  • You need to choose at least two ways to statistically analyze your data using the ideas in weeks 1 through 7 from our course. Explanations for both are worth 25 points each.
  • Whichever methods you choose, make sure you explain clearly how you would analyze the data. Your explanation should include statistical terminology, references to charts or graphs, and the kind of software you are using for your analysis.

Part IV: Presentation

  • In the "real world," you'd be collecting data for a specific purpose and you'd eventually be presenting it to someone (your boss, a group of investors, etc.).
  • You will present your project, in a professional manner.
  • Your final presentation needs to contain:
  • An explanation of what type of data you collected (or the kind you hypothetically collected) and the method you used to collect it - be as specific as you can, within the constraints we are working with (privacy and/or hypothetical data).
  • An explanation of the statistical analyses you chose.
  • If you had access to real data, feel free to include the results of your tests on the data and any graphs you made.
  • An analysis of your process. How did your project planning go? What was hard? What did you learn by doing this?
  • You can present your project in whatever manner you find to be the best: Word, PowerPoint

PLEASE CAN YOU DO A COMPREHENSIVE WORK FOR ME? I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP WITH THIS PROJECT. TELL ME WHAT NEXT TO DO. I REALLY APPRECIATE THANKS. I UNDERSTAND IT TAKES A LOT OF YOUR TIME DUE TO THE NUMBER OF PAGES INVOLVED.
