The government of Ghana has made its intensions known to introduce an electronic transaction levy (e-levy) in the year 2022. The objective is said to widen the tax net and rope in the informal sector. In fact, it is proposed to come into effect on 1 February 2022 to charge 1.75% of the value of electronic transactions.
