The healthcare risk management program has been in existence for a few years now, but only recently has there been a concerted effort on the part of leadership to systematically develop and use metrics to gauge monitor the performance of the System. They refer to these metrics as key performance indicators and they fall under the categories of utilization, capacity, finance, and performance. The System recently hired Ms. Leslie Meeks to become the new Vice President for Compliance and Risk Management. She comes to Harnett Health with nearly 2 decades of quality and risk management experience and is a firm believer in the value of metrics. To this end, she has asked you to begin working on what will eventually become a dashboard containing metrics intended to assess the safety of the organization and guide improvement efforts.
