The hospitality industry attracts workers from all backgrounds and demographic groups. A challenge for managers (also diverse) has been to effectively interact, manage, and motivate workers that may not share the same life experiences, values, and goals. Restaurants, for example, include workers from different generations with wildly different life experiences as well as a variety of races and ethnicities.

Use the two Workforce groups in America: "Married Moms" and "age 40 to 60" and discuss how the group compares to each other.

• Identify and compare what you believe to be shared needs, values, and motivations within each group.
• Identify legislation and regulations related to your chosen groups and assess how organizational practices and policies are affected
• Analyze what you believe would be the most effective leadership and management styles while interacting with the groups.
