The HR Headline discusses the talent development strategy implemented by Hilton Worldwide, a global hospitality company. Hilton Worldwide's HR department created a leadership development program called "Hilton University" that focused on developing and retaining top talent within the organization. My current employer Avera Health offers confidential career consultations in order to create a career path that helps you achieve future goals and find fulfillment in your career at Avera. You can learn about new career and leadership opportunities and what you can to do prepare for them. Avera also offers a monthly series devoted to offering up development for leadership at Avera. The leadership program is internally hosted and produced in an effort to offer continued development opportunities for Avera leaders, to support them in their front-line efforts and personal and professional development goals. Monthly sessions cover new topics, current development needs, and system-based information. Another program Avera offers is their Aspiring Leaders Program. The goal of the system wide Avera Aspiring Leader program is to identify, develop, and retain Avera employees who demonstrate leadership potential to create a pipeline of ready now/ready with development candidates to support Averas future talent management and succession planning needs. Participation in the program will provide an opportunity for our high potential employees to develop and grow while building the foundation of the Avera Leadership Competencies to help prepare them for future leadership opportunities. I feel that Avera offers many programs and opportunities for all employees, making all programs offered or required an organizational strength. Averas company culture is critical to its success, developing leadership within the company helps maintain the culture that the company leans on for success.
