The human resources department was originally an administrative role. The department was responsible for handing out job applications, filling out paperwork, and processing payroll. Over time human resources became less of an administrative role and became a more hands on position. Focusing on coming up with strategic plans on how to help the business run smoothly while also helping the business to achieve their end goals. Human resources have improved so much that the term isn't even called human resources anymore but is now called human capital which is supposed to show appreciate and value towards the department. I think that as technology changes human resources is going to change as well. For example, with technology such as artificial intelligence the human resource department can use this tool for coming up with policy ideas
