Human resources have improved so much that the term isn't even called human resources anymore but is now called human capital which is supposed to show appreciate and value towards the department. I think that as technology changes human resources is going to change as well. For example, with technology such as artificial intelligence the human resource department can use this tool for coming up with policy ideas
