GUIDELINES ON PRESENTATION OF TERM PAPERS BY DIPLOMA STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE

TERM PAPER RUBRICS i. Cover Page Students name, ID, Supervisors name (if any), date of submission ii. Abstract This spans from half a page to of a page. It is to describe the paper, its focus, the issue under discussion and the relevance of the topic.

iii. Introduction This begins with a statement of the topic to be discussed. Students are expected to explain the significance of the problem and indicate how they intend to resolve it.

iv. Nature of Statement- Students are expected to indicate the problem that needs to be solved. This should be stated clearly without any ambiguities.

v. Purpose/Aims of the study: This is a very important and pivotal part of the term paper. This should be specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bound. If there is more than one

aim, the aims should be presented as general (main) and specific (sub-aims) and in the appropriate order of importance.

vi. Findings/Discussion Students are to provide information so the reader to understand the findings of the paper. The findings should be thoroughly discussed. They are to state their position and analyze the research they have undertaken on the topic. vii. Conclusion- Students are to provide a good conclusion base on the issues discussed. viii. Reference To be protected from plagiarism, students are to indicate the sources of the works they have cited using the APA format.
